  10. What is a Unit of Credit • Unit of Credit equals one full year of successful completion of a course. • Ex. English I- 1 credit • Ex. Physical Education- ½ credit

  12. What happens if I fail a class and/or a Regents Exam?

  13. Any course or Regents exam failure must be remediated in summer school.

  14. Scheduling for 2008-09 • We will schedule for next year assuming that all students will successfully complete all courses they are taking this year.

  15. What do I need to take next year??

  16. Most course selections for Sophomores are predetermined by graduation requirements.

  17. Sophomore Schedule 1. English- English IIR or English IIH 2. Social Studies- Global Studies IIR or Global Studies IIH 3. LOTE- Next class 4. Math- Next class 5. Science- Next class- Most students Biology R or Biology H. 6. Sophomore Seminar- Leadership and Business Ethics. 7. Religion- Religion II 8. Physical Education/ Elective* *If you have taken Studio in Art I this year, you will take Music in Our Lives I next year. If you have taken Music in Our Lives I this year, you will take Studio in Art I in 2008-09.

  18. Scheduling Process • Group meetings in with Freshmen. – Now • Elective offerings on Sharepoint. • Individual meetings with your school counselor- Will begin in mid-March • At your meeting with your counselor, we will finalize your course selections based upon your interests, your current academic performance, and appropriateness of course placement. • At the end of the year, teachers will make final course recommendations based upon course performance.

  19. Before your meeting with your counselor, please • Go to Sharepoint and choose 1-3 electives you may be interested in taking. • Please bring your scheduling sheet to your meeting with your counselor.
