Review MME Format, Dates, Free ACT Practice Tests Available in Student Services • www.michigan.gov/mme • March 9: ACT plus Writing until 1:30 • March 10: WorkKeys (Reading and Math Applications and Locating Information) until 11:30 • March 11: Michigan Mathematics, Science and Social Studies Tests until 11:30

Continued • No more Michigan Promise Scholarships, but benefits include: • Free college entrance test • Potential Career Readiness Certificates for employers • Testing at MSU Union- ride school bus • No cell phones, no lunch break- only snack- so eat breakfast! Bring photo ID, calculator, watch. • Pre-ID documents during Excel Feb. 18, 23 & 25- bubbling by alphabet (mandatory)

Junior Classroom Meetings- February 8 & 9 • Curriculum rigor recommended for college acceptance • 4 years English • 4 years mathematics • 3 to 4 years science • 3 to 4 years social studies • 2 to 3 years of the same world language • Pursue your passion • Take the most challenging courses in which you can succeed.

Introduce College Application Procedure • Spring college visits by colleges held during Excel • Application recommended in September of senior year to 3 to 5 colleges/universities • ELHS College Application Router Form to monitor flow of documents- electronic or hard copy • Websites: College Search, Financial Aid, ACT and SAT, NCAA, fafsa.ed.gov between Jan. 1 and March 1 of senior year

Junior Registration- March 2010 • Transcript review • Graduation requirements and credit checks, Education Development Plan review • Registration for 2010-2011 week of March 22 by appointment • Registration forms • AP applications available March 1, acceptance lists from teachers due March 15 • Obtain teacher signatures for core placements • Obtain parent signature

Continued • Return completed and signed registration forms to Student Services by March 31 • Return any special schedule forms, such as requests for VHS (Virtual High School) or dual enrollment, completed, to Student Services by the above date • Students who fail to meet the deadline will go to the end of the line. • Course offerings and descriptions available online underhttp://elps.k12.mi.us/education/orgs/orgs.php?sectionid=450
