  2. Lil J and Rico were out making a drug deal for Kelly a king pin that the two of them worked for. While making the drug deal they realized that the buyer was an undercover cop. Then Rico got nervous and shot the cop an ran.

  3. Quotation: “ On the screen I saw myself on the roof landing again. I saw my face all twisted up and ugly and I saw myself lifting the nine to my head.’’ • As Lil J saw himself on the screen he realized that if he didn’t fess up an tell the police that he didn’t do it then he knew his life wouldn’t get very far.

  4. Quotation: “The baggies were still there. Or they were there from the day before. I took them into the bathroom, an flushed it, and stood there and watched it in the water till it finally disappeared.” • Through Lil J’s experience I think he finally realized there is more to life then doing drugs. After this event he had drastically changed his life around and tried to start over.

  5. Quotation: “People want to look at you and see your whole future laid out the way they know it, an I was saying that didn’t happen. People aren't born with I'm great flashing on their forehead!” • Through this section Lil J was talking about how he thinks people walk around and perceive themselves to his mom.

  6. The most important setting is in the abandoned building where Kelly show Lil J his life through a TV. In the room where Kelly was there was a: TV, a couch, a broken recliner, and a few old beer bottles. • I learned that no matter how bad life can be that it could always be worse. Hearing the description of this place, made me appreciate what I have.

  7. Another important scene was the street in front of the old abounded building. At this part of the story Kelly surrendered his life instead of Lil J going to jail. He took the gun an shot out of the window and ran down stairs. Then when he got on the ground level the police shot him an he died in the middle of the New York street. • I learned that some times when you are too much of a coward to do something, like admitting to some thing, that some one else will suffer.
