The BelLibNet constituent conference, held on December 4, 2002, under the Belarusian Library Association (BLA), marked important advancements in library collaboration in Belarus. The council's formation included the election of key officers, and foundational statutes were established. Activities focused on evaluating information resources from various publishers, addressing subscription financial issues, and enhancing training for library professionals. Future proposals emphasize not only access to external databases but also active participation in creating local information repositories and improving interoperability.
