Families and Social Care (FSC) announces a consultation regarding the future of care at Doubleday Lodge following the Older Person’s Modernisation Programme. This review aims to enhance quality and value for money in care services. Initially, six homes closed, and now we're considering closing this service. Residents will be supported with alternative accommodations in the independent sector. The consultation runs from September 20 to December 13, 2013, with outcomes reported in January 2014. Background • Families and Social Care (FSC) are reviewing its remaining in-house provision following the Older Person’s Modernisation Programme which commenced in June 2010. • Phase 1 of the programme led to the closure of 6 homes in 2011 • Phase 2 commences 20 September for 12 weeks
