  1. ICLCInner Collegiate Leadership Conference • What it is… • Held annually at different sister schools…this year at Harding University • Universities in attendance were: • LCU • ACU • Harding • York • Fried Harden • Two days of presentations from each school as well as group brain storming

Purposes: • To familiarize the sister schools with each others student leaders • To learn from the successes as well as mistakes of other schools • To create a better relationship between sister schools in order to help each other in our common goal…to share Christ • Goals: • To encourage more participation amongst other sister schools • To meet annually with the sister schools Dean’s conference to encourage more interaction between administration and student governments

  3. Topics that were addressed: • Budget: • Trent interjects his thoughts here • ACU went in dept $40,000 last year • ACU funds all 110 student groups on campus • LCU has the most competitive budget…proportionately the same as ACU

  4. Structures: Senate vs. Congress, committees vs. full association Office hours Requirements of Senators • Activities: • Case Studies: How to address situations of conflict The “conspiracy theory”

Improving LCU in the Community - Service Month • Harding University Has Service Day (Community, Churches and Students Involved as One Group Effort) • Organized by the Spiritual Life Committee • Clubs, Organizations, and Compiled Teams • Individuals • Month-long Competition to Do Service • Competitions encourage participation • Ex: largest participation, most people helped, most creative service, most effective service • Rewards provided by Student Senate and Outside Sources • Purposes • To encourage and promote spiritual growth and Christlike service in the community • To join the community of LCU and the community of Lubbock

  6. Improving LCU on Campus – Improvement Contest • Freed-Hardmen University holds an Improve Campus Contest • Organized by the Student Concerns Committee • Clubs, Organizations, and Compiled Teams • Month Long Competition to Improve Campus • Competitions encourage participation • Teams ‘given’ a set amount of funds (from Student Senate) to come up with proposals to improve campus (physically) • Winning proposals are awarded the funds and assisted by Student Senate and the Administration to complete their project • Winners also awarded prizes to their party • Purposes • To encourage and promote University pride and student visibility on campus • To give students the opportunity to make desired changes on campus
