National Connectivity • City Fiber is already in place • Campus Fiber network will be connected to the city Fiber as part of the campus fiber optic network • This link will be used as a backup link since the price is a bit high compared to our international connectivity that is provided by NATO for free AFRENA, Kabul University, April 2007

International Connectivity • NATO Science Committee has awarded a grant (SILK) for a VSAT-based network • This provides connectivity to the European Research Network (GEANT2) • There are currently nine countries in the Silk Virtual High Way • AF, AR, AZ, GE, KY, KZ, TJ, TK, UZ AFRENA, Kabul University, April 2007
