  5. Janez Micka Slovenes often joke that everybody knows everybody in this country. Generally, Slovenes describe themselves as hard working, honest, a bit jealous, good singers who enjoy a good glass of wine, perhaps a bit on the melancholy side, and with a slight propensity for extremism.

  12. Free movement of workers Slovenia does not apply any restrictions on the access to its labour market by citizens of the EU member countries and EEU countries.

Registration procedure • Entrance in Slovenia with a valid ID • Within 3 days from arrival you have to register at the police station • Within 3 months you should apply for a residence permit if you wish to stay in Slovenia. You will need: • employment contract or enough resources for living • health insurance • evidence of impunity

  18. Employment procedures • Job vacancy is noticed • Job application • Interview • Health certificate • Employment contract (permanent, temporary) • Tax and indentification number • Social insurance within 8 days from the start of work (arranged by employer ) • health insurance card

Remuneration • Minimum salary: 734,15 € gross 562,00 € net • Average salary: 930,01 € net • Salary supplement: • food allowance : 3,65 € / day • transport to work: employer refunds costs of public transport ( it depends on employer ) • Social contributions: • employer: 16,10% • employee: 22,10% • Taxes depend on salary (16 - 41 %)

  20. Working time • Full time - 40 hours, but not less than 36 and more than 42 • Extra hours – allowed up to 170 hours/year • Night work- 10 p.m.- 6.a.m.

  21. Annual leave • At least 4 weeks ( full-time or part-time): • 5 days/week - 20 days • 6 days/week - 24 days • You are entitled to annual leave after 6 months of work
