  2. Spikes • Caused by voltage fluctuations and particles in the polymer • Usually appear in three or more channels • Usually appear at precisely the same data collection point

  11. Establishing boundaries • We can capture 95% of the population with two standard deviations • Determine limits for observed ratios • Lower limit for “Good” peaks: 5.5 • Upper limit for spikes: 4
