  3. Dealing with Tk20 Questions • Biggest complaint on Tk20 survey to Student Teachers: Communication Bottleneck

If you have questions about Tk20: • First: consult the Tk20 Info Website (link on TESS site): http://www.nwmissouri.edu/dept/peu/tess/tk20/index.htm • Second: contact your University Supervisor (US) • If can’t find answer, email tk20@nwmissouri.edu • If no answer in two days, call me: 660-562-1089

  5. What is Tk20? • Comprehensive data assessment system • Allows students to be active online participants in multiple areas of their college experience including: • Course instruction • Field experience • Academic advising

  7. Changes from this semester • One Field Experience Binder per placement • TWS Elements on Portfolio • Cooperating Teacher login changes

  8. Assignments for Student Teachers • All on Field Experience Binders or TWS Portfolios • University Supervisors will notify student teachers of their own due dates • Final Due Dates for Student Teachers: • April 8th: TWS Portfolios • April 29th: FE Binders

  9. FE Binder Items for Student Teachers • One binder for each student • 5 Day Report • Demographic Form • Summative Reflection Form • Niagara Disposition • NOT on Tk20 (see student teaching website) • CT Payroll Form • SPED Verification Form

  10. TWS Portfolio Items for Student Teachers • TWS Elements, 1-7 • Lesson Reflection

TWS Elements on Portfolios • Place on tk20 where assignments can be grouped together for scoring • To use, click on “Portfolios” tab • Click on name of portfolio (if you have been assigned one) • Click on large blue circle on right of page, “artifact wizard” • Click on link to upload each item

  13. Incorrect Assignment Upload to Portfolio • If incorrect assignment uploaded • Click “Portfolio” tab • Click name of portfolio • Click artifact wizard • Click grey “x” next to incorrect assignment to remove • *Only works if portfolio has not been submitted or assessed

  14. Incorrect Assignment Upload to Portfolio • ONLY SUBMIT WHEN ALL PORTFOLIO ITEMS UPLOADED • If submitted incorrectly, contact University Supervisor

  15. Checking scores on assignments • Click “Portfolio” tab • Click name of portfolio • Choose “assessment” tab • Click on link to completed rubric

  16. Field Experience Binders • Similar to portfolios, except these will collect data from a variety of users (students, cooperating teachers, university supervisors) • Used exclusively next semester for student teachers assignments that are not TWS elements

  17. Field Experience Binders • Click on “field experience” tab • (if you have been sent a binder), click on it by name • Click on tabs, upload and SAVE • SUBMIT when all items are saved

  18. Accessing Assignments and Forms • Click on the “Field Experience” tab • Click on name of the binder (one for each placement) • Click on any tab (5 Day Report, Niagara Disposition, all TWS Elements….) OR, use Artifact Wizard

  19. Submitting Binders • ONLY done when all items are saved • Submit at the bottom of the artifact wizard page

  20. Uploaded Incorrect Assignment? • Access Binder • Click on “Artifact Wizard” • Click on grey “x” next to title of uploaded item

  21. Submitted Field Experience Binder Prematurely? • Contact University Supervisor, request that they grant an extension

  22. Viewing Assessments • Click on Field Experience Binder • Click on tab named “Assessment” • Choose option from “Role” column, either “Faculty” or “Cooperating Teacher” • Click on link of “Assessment Template” to see results • Formative Observation, Summative, Niagara Disposition….

  23. US’s and CT’s • CT Login • US’s will be able to help much more this semester • CT payroll form on student teaching website, off “forms” link • SPED verification form also no in Tk20, but in student teacher site • http://www.nwmissouri.edu/dept/peu/studentteach/forms.htm

  24. Surveys • End of semester • University Supervisor • Cooperating Teacher(s) • Content Methods Course • Content Supervisor (if necessary) • Tk20

  25. Placement Data • MOST IMPORTANT • MUST have accurate placement data. If you did not upload the most accurate placement data, contact Joyce Jewett immediately • If employed, must have a mentor teacher • If a change occurs to your CT, US or anyone else, please contact tk20nwmissouri.edu immediately
