  6. After high school, what’s next? ASPIRE is the State of Oregon’s official mentoring program to help students access education and training beyond high school. ASPIRE is only in Oregon, and Ridgeview High School is fortunate to be one of the ASPIRE sites out of over 200 high schools state wide offering this program.

  7. About ASPIRE… Students that are enrolled in the ASPIRE program are matched with a volunteer from our community. This volunteer, called an Advisor or Mentor will assist with postsecondary options, meaning “What will I do after graduation from high school?”. Your advisor will help you with: Career Options: What profession is right for me? College Searches: Which school is a good fit for me? College Application Process: Where do I start? Ways to Pay for Your Education: College is expensive-how can I afford it? Scholarships: How do I find scholarships and how do I apply? College Alternatives: I don’t even want to go to College. What choices are there for me?

WHAT DOES THE ARMY OFFER FOR COLLEGE • POST 9-11 GI BILL • Pays up to the Highest in-state, undergrad, public tuition (for Oregon that number is $25,699.00 per year) • Pays $1000.00 per year for books. • Pays an E-5 housing allowance while you are enrolled as a student (up to 36 academic months). • For Bend, that is a total of: $152,372

  27. ARMY TUITION ASSISTANCE While on Active Duty You WILL be given the opportunity to take college courses You WILL receive $4500.00 annually to use for college 100% Tuition Assistance

  28. TRAINING FOR COLLEGE CREDITS • While you train for your job in the ARMY you earn college credit. • All your certified training counts as credits • Basic Training counts as 6-8 college credits. • They are all elective credits and you can apply them toward any degree program

PaYS Partnership with selected companies / corporations to share in recruiting efforts and reconnect America with its Army. • Partner Company agrees to reserve future positions in exchange for trained Army veterans. • Applicant agrees to join the Army with future hiring preference with partnership company. • Army agrees to enlist, train, and provide veterans with strong work ethics. • America benefits with a trained workforce that understands patriotic service.

  30. ConAP • Goal – To increase the enrollment of Army veterans in college. • Recruiter helps new Soldiers plan for college. • New Soldier establishes a home college that recognizes military learning experiences. • Provides colleges with disciplined students with funds for education.
