  2. Our National Organization Jack and Jill of America is a national African American mothers' organization. It was formed in 1938 by African American mothers to provide a vehicle for their children to socialize. Since then, it has evolved into one of the most well known women's organizations in the nation. The objectives of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated are to “create a medium of contact for children which will stimulate growth and development and provide children constructive educational, cultural, civic, health, recreational and social programs.”Since 1938 these objectives have been at the forefront of the development of children, particularly in the African American community. • Our national website address is www.jackandjillinc.org.

Birth of New Chapter • Inland Empire Interest group initially started in June 1985 • 10 mothers started the interest group under the direction of the Pomona Chapter. • Nan Clopton held the first meeting at her home. • Pomona chapter sponsored the organization of the Inland Empire chapter. • On October 4, 1986 sixteen members chartered the Inland Empire Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. • Mildred Sparks was the first chartering president.

  5. Our Territory Inland Empire Chapter is located in the Far West Region of the Southern California Cluster and includes most of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.

Aims of the Organization • Support the national, state, and local legislation for the betterment of children’s welfare. • Improve the quality of life for all children. • Engage in special community service projects locally that adhere to the goal of making a difference in the lives of children and their families as well as Jack and Jill Foundation.

Jack and Jill Foundation • Promotes the excellent preparation of succeeding generations of children as leaders, in all walks of life, so that they may attain their fullest potential as individuals, enjoy rewarding and fulfilling lives, and contribute to world peace, progress, and prosperity. • http://www.jackandjillfoundation.org/
