  4. JOINT IMPLEMENTATION PROCEDURES • Chapters 1 to 3 form the INTRODUCTION • Chapters 4 to 8 contain procedures concerning AOC • Chapters 9 to 11 are entitled REGULATION • Chapters 12 and 13 are about STANDARDISATION • The final section contains APPENDICES Content of the JIP:

  5. JOINT IMPLEMENTATION PROCEDURES • “Technical findings” • How the Authority arrives at a decision • “Legal findings” • The decision taken by the Authority

EXEMPTIONS JAR-OPS 1/3.010 The Authority may exceptionally and temporarily grant an exemption from the provisions of JAR-OPS Part 1 when satisfied that there is a need and subject to compliance with any supplementary condition the Authority considers necessary in order to ensure an acceptable level of safety in the particular case

  7. EXEMPTIONS - EXAMPLE Technical findings: • written request • from the operator itself • explains why Exemption is needed • how safety is maintained • Request should have the support of the assigned Inspector

  8. EXEMPTIONS - EXAMPLE Legal findings: Authority must be satisfied : • That the need is exceptional and temporary And • That the proposal is acceptably safe (The Authority may impose conditions)
