  2. The Time Before The Second Coming • One of Two Books of the Bible whose primary purpose is to give you the view of the world during the end of the age • Daniel and then Revelation (Revelation is a continuation) • Revelation: written approximately 1900 years ago, and Daniel: 2600 years

  3. Daniel and John • Both were in exile from Israel • Both saw the time of the End • Both saw the Second Coming of Messiah

  4. Daniel and John • Both lived in a time when the Temple was destroyed and did not exist at the time they received the visions • Both lived to be in their 90’s • They both lived through 4 kings or emperors

  5. Daniel and John • Both saw the world’s final kingdom (Dan.7:9-26, Rev.17:11-14) • Both saw the time frame of seven years (Dan.9:27, Rev.11:2:13:3) • Both saw the final rule for 42 months (Dan.12:7, Rev.12:14)

  6. Daniel and John • Both saw the rise of a Final Dictator (Dan.8:23-25, Rev.13:1-2) • Both saw a final kingdom described as a Beast (Dan.7:7, Rev.13:1-2) • Both saw 10 Kings accompany the beast (Dan.7:24, Rev.17:12)

  13. His Kingdom Come • Daniel highlights how God will use four world empires for His purpose of bringing Israel to salvation and preparing them for world leadership, while He purifies His Church and establishes His kingdom on earth.

  14. His Kingdom Come • It also reveals the certainty of victory and the intensity of the battle that Israel and the Church will have in the end times as they stand together against the evil that will manifest in the Antichrist’s empire.

  15. Decoding Daniel Daniel 12:4 (AMPC) But you, O Daniel, shut up the words and seal the Book until the time of the end. [Then] many shall run to and fro and search anxiously [through the Book], and knowledge [of God’s purposes as revealed by His prophets] shall be increased and become great.

  16. Daniel 2:38-44 (NLT) 38 He has made you the ruler over all the inhabited world and has put even the wild animals and birds under your control. You are the head of gold. 39 “But after your kingdom comes to an end, another kingdom, inferior to yours, will rise to take your place. After that kingdom has fallen, yet a third kingdom, represented by bronze, will rise to rule the world.

  17. Daniel 2:38-44 (NLT) 40 Following that kingdom, there will be a fourth one, as strong as iron. That kingdom will smash and crush all previous empires, just as iron smashes and crushes everything it strikes

  18. Daniel 2:38-44 (NLT) 41 The feet and toes you saw were a combination of iron and baked clay, showing that this kingdom will be divided. Like iron mixed with clay, it will have some of the strength of iron. 42 But while some parts of it will be as strong as iron, other parts will be as weak as clay.

  19. Daniel 2:38-44 (NLT) 43 This mixture of iron and clay also shows that these kingdoms will try to strengthen themselves by forming allianceswith each other through intermarriage. But they will not hold together, just as iron and clay do not mix.

  20. Daniel 2:38-44 (NLT) 44 “During the reigns of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed or conquered. It will crush all these kingdoms into nothingness, and it will stand forever.

The Fall of Man & The Original Sin Genesis 2:15-17 (NLT) 15 The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. 16But the Lord God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden— 17except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.”

  26. The Fall of Man & The Original Sin • Satan’s hatred for God • used God’s word - twisted - to tempt mankind to rebel against God • Lust of the Flesh, Lust of the Eye, and the Pride of Life

  27. The Fall of Man & The Original Sin Genesis 3:6 When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.

  28. Genesis 3 (NIV) 21 The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. 22 And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” 23 So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.

For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”

Adam's sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone … 21 So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God's wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

But even greater is God's wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. 18 Yes, Adam's one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ's one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone.

  37. 1 Corinthians 15:12-21 19 Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous. 20 God's law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God's wonderful grace became more abundant.

  40. ONE WORLD ORDER • The next chapter recounts how all of the kingdoms and peoples of the world were dispersed from the Tower of Babel erected in his city. As all of the 70 nations are scattered, Genesis 12 describes how the Lord selected out one man from among them to establish his covenant: Abraham.

Chad Ashby • So, in 2 Kings 24-25, when King Nebuchadnezzar burned down the House of the Lord and the house of the king and all the houses in Jerusalem and carried all of Abraham’s offspring into exile in Babylon, it was a return to Genesis 10. The exile was kind of the Lord’s way of saying, “From whence it came.”

Chad Ashby The Lord returns his people to the fount of the nations – to Babel – not because he has failed to keep his promise to Abraham, but in order that he might keep his promise through the true offspring: Jesus Christ.. At Babel, we have the beginning of the kingdom of this world. Headed by Nimrod, Babel becomes the archetype of every earthly kingdom to follow. Here was their haughty objective:

  44. Chad Ashby Genesis 11:4 “Then they said, ‘Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.'”

  45. Chad Ashby • Babel, the kingdom of earth, is hell-bent on de-throning the God of the universe. It is a kingdom of pride, self-sufficiency, and defiance to the Creator. • Fast-forward several millenia, and we find the city of Babel relatively unchanged. King Nebuchadnezzar surveys the city, and in his pride and pomp he marvels at his own glory:

  46. Chad Ashby Daniel 4:29-30 “At the end of twelve months he was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon, and the king answered and said, ‘Is not this great Babylon, which I have built by my mighty power as a royal residence and for the glory of my majesty?'”

  47. Chad Ashby So, when we turn to the final book of the Bible, it makes sense why John the Revelator personifies the Kingdom of Earth as the great whore Babylon. This city embodies the boastful, wicked pride of man:

Chad Ashby Revelation 17:4-5 “The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality. And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: ‘Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth’s abominations.’”

  49. Chad Ashby • You see, the Bible begins and ends with the toppling of this wicked city. Every man toiling away in the city of Babel trying to loft himself into the heavens in defiance of the Lord will be scattered (Genesis 11:8). Every proud Nebuchadnezzar will be humiliated like a beast of the field (Daniel 4:31-33). Every kingdom that breeds immorality and feasts on the saints of God will be eternally destroyed (Revelation 18:2).
