  2. Some folks in our population have been led to believe that they need the Federal Government. The reality is you and I have so many layers of government that we really don't. Oh sure we need a strong military - which indeed was the real reason for a Federal Government - to pool the resources of the states for a common defense - but we don't need a Federal Government to tell us how to live our life or even command under threat of taxation, or penalty.

  3. So, what happens if the Government shuts down? Not much really, you will wake up tomorrow and everything will be the same. Belgium didn't have a government for over 18 months, and they did fine, actually better, their economy blossomed. Why? Less regulation, fewer laws, less enforcement - which all equated to more freedom - small businesses did better and everyone did fine.

  4. Bloomberg had an interesting piece published on September 30, 2013 titled; "First U.S. Shutdown in 17 Years Imminent With No Talks," by Roxana Tiron, Michael C. Bender & Kathleen Hunter. The article made it sound like the collapse of civilization - but that is hardly the reality - the DOW fell only 128 points, so what, that's about as little volatility as we've had all month, no big deal - basically no one cares, this is a political media circus - and the media is making hay over it - has everyone on edge - striking fear into the American People - it's all nonsense, let me explain.

Trust me if the government shuts down you as a regular citizen won't much notice, that's how it was in 1995 - further, it will then make you think; "why do we need such a large government anyway?" and that is what they are really afraid of - that's what happened last time. Now the government employs 2 million people - but who the hell told them to do that anyway? Our Blob of bureaucracy is out of control and wastes money and sends it to crony capitalists, let's turn off the wasteful spigot - now is as good a time as any!
