  1. Mrs. Crabtree 11/15/13 ACT Local Project - 2013 Isabel Carpenter

  2. We contacted the main person in charge of Volunteering. Her name is Susan. She told us what we were able to do and not able to do with the residents. She gave us dates and times that we could come and visit with the residents. Susan was a big help in guiding us on this project. Here is a picture of her! My Team Isabel Carpenter Jorden Larsen Cecila Alcala The three of us decided we wanted to give back to the community by spending time with the elderly residents at Sun Rise Senior living Center.   3. Activity #1: We had a decorating pumpkin party with the residents!! This was tons of fun, we had a contest on who had the scariest, silliest and prettiest pumpkin of all! The residents guided us and told us how they wanted to decorate the pumkins.

  4. Activity #2: On Friday nights we have been going to play cards with a few of the residents. They enjoyed showing us how to play the game Skip Bo. Here is a picture of Mrs. Katharine & Mrs. Vivian. They were both very nice ladies. One of the residents was very competitive, I will not say who, but I think she was cheating….. But we still had a great time with the residents!!!!

  5. Activity #3 We baked cookies and cupcakes for the residents. We made them when we all had a sleep over to work on our project.

  6. Activity #4 Our group made shadow boxes . A shadow box is a box that shows about the residence life. It hangs in front of their door. And they add pictures of themselves. I was assigned Bob and Norra, they are a married couple that lives at Sunrise.
