  1. ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE?

  2. Do you remember the slogan, “The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat?” • The Wide World of Sports would commercialize the series by showing a man with his hands raised in victory or a skier falling off his skis.

  3. Michael Buffer has probably made more money than anyone else on Earth by stepping inside a boxing ring — and never throwing a punch. • Before the wrestling match begins, he screams out, “Let’s get ready to rumble!”

  4. Our lives as Christians is similar. We are in this arena fighting for our lives. Sadly, some will lose and others will win!

  5. I. PREPARING FOR BATTLE

  6. We Are Constantly Fighting Battles • Psa. 55:18, “He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.” • Psa. 22:31, “The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.”

  7. 1 Tim. 1:18, “This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare.”

  8. “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (1 Tim. 6:12, 13).

  9. The Agony of the Lost • 2 Pet. 2:15, “Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness.” • Matt. 22:14, “For manyarecalled, but few are chosen.”

  10. Heb. 3:17, “But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcasesfell in the wilderness?”

  11. 1 Jn. 5:4, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

  12. Like Paul, we will fight the good fight! (2 Tim. 4:7). • As we pass on into our eternal bliss, we glance back at a world that is poisoned with sin! • Gal. 1:4, “Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father.”

  13. II. PREPARING FOR VICTORY

  14. KNOWLEDGE IS THE KEY TO VICTORY!

  15. We know the plan of salvation! • We know the teachings on unity! • We know the fundamentals of the church! • We must also know our enemy!

  16. Prov. 18:15, “The heart of the prudent gettethknowledge; and the ear of the wise seekethknowledge.” • Psa. 119:66, “Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.” • Psa. 139:6, “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.”

  17. KNOWLEDGE LEADS TO ACTION

  18. Knowledge is powerful, yet it is not effective unless it is put into action!

  19. Proving What Is Right! • Acts 17:11, “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”

  20. Defending the Faith • 1 Pet. 3:15, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to giveananswer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.”

  21. Practicing What We Preach • Jn. 4:34, “Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” • Jn. 9:4, “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.”

  22. 1 Cor. 15:58, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

  23. In many situations, no matter how much you do (pray, teach, defend), the soul is lost! • People make choices!

  24. Isa. 66:4, “I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.”

  25. III. WINNING THE PRIZE

  26. Christ • Phil. 3:8, “Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may winChrist.”

  27. Phil. 3:14, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

  28. Eternal Life • “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain” (1 Cor. 9:24).
