  2. Introduction • A microscope is an instrument. • Helps you see tiny objects. • Makes you understand how things work and function to the body.

  3. Problem Challenge • In the past, germs and bacteria were hard to see. • It was believed that curses and spirits caused diseases. • Organisms such as bacteria were not known.

  4. Solution Improvement • Microscopes allowed scientists to study cells. • It taught people about sickness & it’s spread. • Gave people the ability to see how things fit and work together. • Microscopes helped scientists in research ! • The light of the microscope bounces from the mirror though the stage. Then it goes through the thin slice of glass and to the objective lenses. Next it moves through the tube until it gets to the eye piece. How did it solve the problem? How Does it work?

  5. Negative Outcomes • Magnifies images up to 400x only. • Thick images cannot be viewed because of the light opacity. • The light of the microscope can cause eye problems.

Extras • A little about him: • Antony Van is the inventor of a light microscope. • He used small, polished glass for the lens. • Used his invention for his studies. • Birth: 24-Oct-1632 Delft, Netherlands • Language spoken: Dutch. • Family: Married to Barbra De May, had 4 children. • Wife died in 1666. Remarried and had 1 more child. Death: August 30, 1723 Delft Netherlands.
