  4. Toolbar This is a picture of the screen when you are using the paint program. These are the tools you can use to create the shapes and colours that make up your pictures.

  5. You Try them! • Explore the tool bar and see if you can create a picture of ……..

  7. Gallery Walk Take a look at our pictures. What have you discovered about this painting program? What have you learned that you can do with this program? Is this program similar to others you have used already? Explore paint some more.

  22. My Project Stage One • Draw a subject of your choice. • Use as many tools as you wish • Include your name in the illustration • Save and close your work Stage Two • Open saved work • Make changes • Use save as to save a copy using a different name for your work.

My Project Stage One • Draw an illustration for the story we are reading. • Use as many tools as you wish filling out the whole scene (including foreground and background) • Include your name in the illustration • Save and close your work Stage Two • Locate and open saved work • Add or delete characters from your illustration, make any other changes: size, colour, position, etc. • Use save as to save a copy using a different name for your work. • Print your work.

Creating your own Pattern Stage One • Create a pattern using cut, copy and paste • Make your pattern interesting by using flip and rotate. • Save your work Stage Two • Open and rename the file to create a new version • Modify your picture by using some editing features such as resize, etc. • Save your work with a new name.

Creating Paintings Stage One • Select a picture to copy. • Use a variety of brushes and tools to create your painting. • Use the edit colors feature to create new colours. • Save your work at regular intervals. Stage Two • Be prepared to share your work and explain how and why you used the painting techniques that your did. • Be prepared to answer questions about your choices.
