  7. vs.13 Being fed by another

  11. vs.14 becoming self-feeding "My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.” John 4.34

  12. Learning Jesus’ way

  13. Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12.7-8,11 • A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher. Luke 6.40

  14. Lord Jesus, in what ways do you want to grow me in 2012? • The answer should impact you • Spiritually • Emotionally • Mentally • Physically

  15. This is not about – • Keeping the rules • Managing your sin • Monitoring your behavior • Believing the right things (as opposed to thinking Biblically)

  16. Instead your energy and focus will be on . . . What Is Jesus Doing? The answer to this questions will • Alter your worldview • Change your perspective • Cause you to use your time and energy differently

  17. Preparing for GrowthBy constant use train yourself • It will cost you something • Rise to the occasion • Create a new routine • Keep a diary/journal/log • Commit to a partner

  19. By constant use train yourself

  20. but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. Romans 8.5 • the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 8.6 • those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons/daughters of God. Romans 8.15 • Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5.25

  21. “Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus in my service to God. . . • by what I have said and done • by the power of signs and miracles • through the power of the Spirit.” Romans 15.17-19
