Hungarian Facts Two major rivers the Danube (417 km long) and Tisza (598 km long) The currency of Hungary is forint (HUF), Hungary's population is around 10 million the majority of the population live in Budapest around 1,8 million people. In 1999 Hungary joined the NATO, and in 2004 the European Union. Hungary lies in Central Europe bordered by Austria, Slovakia, Ukr5aine, Romania, Serbia, Croatian and Slovenia.

Kürtőskalács Chimney cakes Kürtőskalács is made from sweet, yeast dough (raised dough), of which a strip is spun and then wrapped around a truncated cone–shaped baking spit, and rolled in granulated sugar. It is baked above charcoal cinders while lubricated with melted butter, until its surface gets a golden-brown color. During the baking process the sugar stuck on kürtőskalács becomes caramel and forms shiny, crispy crust on the cake. The surface of cake can then be provided with additional toppings such as ground walnut or cinnamon powder

  6. Rubik's Cube The famous logic-toy was invented by a Hungarian engineer, Ernő Rubik. Mr. Rubik originally named the toy as Magic Cube. Hint: the colour of a side is determined by the colour of the centre-cube of that side. Tourism Hungary is one of the thirty most popular tourist destinations in the world, attracting 10.2 million tourists a year (2011).
