  2. North America Climate Zones found in North America- • Cold • Dry • Temperate

Types of Weather in the Zones • Cold- Snow, moderate rainfall, Average summer temperatures between 70-90 degrees, winter has an average temperature below 26 degrees Fahrenheit. • Dry- Very little precipitation, no bodies of water, temperatures reach over 120 degrees, and drop to 100 degrees at night. • Temperate- Summers warm with little rainfall, winters moderate/wet, coldest months in temperate regions are between 26.6 and 64.4 degrees Fahrenheit.

  4. Rainfall/Temperature in Zones • Dry Zone- little rain with 20-35 degrees North and South of the equator. Can be classified as dry arid or dry semiarid. • Temperate Zone- Temperature’s averaging more than 50 degrees Fahrenheit, regions in continental temperate zone have not as much precipitation(30 inches of rain a year) but have thunderstorms. Classified as oceanic temperate zone or continental temperate zone. • Cold Zone- Some precipitation but in the form of snow, average temperature -47 degrees to 0 degrees

  5. Environment of Zones(Vegetation) • Dry Zones- Plants like cacti and succulents are grow in dry areas and flowers like African lilies and carnations. Trees such as sumac, ash and elms can be grown here too. Conditions being with hot temperatures. • Temperate Zones- Conditions being with some precipitation. Trees like elm, oak, maple, and walnut are grown here. Plants such as corn, grapes, plums, ferns are grown here. • Cold Zones- Conditions being with cold climate. Water lilies and shrubs are grown here, including trees such as willow and sugar maple.

  7. Conditions For Living in Zones • Dry Zones- People face no humidity, Very hot temperatures during the summer, reaching 100 degrees outside. During winter, reaches 60-70 degrees • Temperate Zones- People face having rich vegetation because of mild climate, experience little precipitation, fair weather and temperatures. • Cold Zones- People face snow or ice, cold weather frequently, and some vegetation depending on what can be appropriately grown there.
