  1. Using the Internet to access Want Ads Individually, or in pairs, use the following website to create profiles for twopart-time jobs that you might be interested in now or in the future. http://www.snagajob.com/job-search/w-oswego,+il/q-part+time

  2. Resumés Suppose you decided to apply for one of the part-time jobs that you saw advertised. One of the first things your potential employer would need to see before considering whether or not you would be suitable for the job is a resumé. A resumédescribes your education, work experience, and other qualifications for work. Read the information on page 168 and look at the example on page 169 of “Learning for Earning” before producing your own to include every section.Be sure to personalize it towards the specific job you are applying for and remember that this will be one of the first things that your potential employer will see of you. Therefore, make it professional and presentable. 12 points (1 for each section. Max of 3 for making it specific for that particular job. Max of 3 for presentation).

  3. Job Application Forms In addition to sending in a resumé, potential employers often ask you to complete a job application form. It asks for information about you and your background. It helps employers compare your suitability to the job and also allows them to compare you with other job candidates. It is also handwritten and may well give the employer an indication of your literacy level as well as your skills of presentation (there are no fancy spell-checks or clever aps to make you look better than you are. So, again, presentation is the key as is legibility and correct spelling!). What would you think if you received something like this as a potential employer? Task: Complete an application form for a career of your choosing for 10 years from now. You will have to be a bit creative with it, but try to make it as authentic as possible by, for example, applying for a real job that you are currently interested in eventually obtaining and real colleges that you could possibly attend. 12 points (4 points max for: authenticity, legibility, correct spelling) Take care and time!
