Should Your Office Build a Facebook Page? • Designed to provide information about the office and it's FREE. • Clients able to get contact info to contact the office for information. • Most people do not know you are looking for them so using this type of account can be okay. • Problem - their profile is listed as private. • Will they accept you as a friend?

  21. Personal Accounts Can search for individuals Problems arise when the other person marks their profile as private Ways to get the person to befriend you Ability for them to see your personal information Threats from unhappy individuals

  22. Fictitious Profile Controversial issues about false information Need to keep the information as real as possible Using a picture on the account is helpful Keeps people from getting your personal information

  23. Information Available • People list their hometown, High School, day and month of birth, phone numbers, emails. • Jobs and average income • People tell what they are doing and who they are doing it with. • Pictures of assets • People bragging about their occupations and successes

Policy for Each Account • Twitter prohibits its users from sending deceptive or false information • Linkedin is for professionals and they require that you do not send or download information that will be injurious or harmful to others • My Space requires that all the information placed on the site is truthful, factual, and trustworthy • Facebook specifies that users will not provide false personal information
