  2. Series: Soul Shaping - “I’m so Busy!” From Busyness to Focus

  3. Tattoo

  4. I. A Problem we all Face.

  5. Barbara Brown Taylor says, "It does seem to me that at least some of us have made an idol of exhaustion. The only time we know we have done enough is when we are running on empty & when the ones we love most are the ones we see the least. When we lie down to sleep at night, we offer our full appointment calendars to God in lieu of prayer, believing that God--who is as busy as we are-- will surely understand.”

  6. Henry & Richard Blackaby says, “We are so activity oriented that we assume we were saved for a task we are to perform rather rather than for a relationship to enjoy.”

  7. I. A Problem we all Face. II. A Promise we are all Given. A. Unplug

  8. Gary L Thomas writes, “The sin many of us fall into is not that we shake our fists at God & defy Him to His face; that is the sin of unbelievers. Our sin is that we passively rebel against God, filling our lives with so much noise & busyness that God’s voice cannot, or will not, penetrate.”

  12. Gary Thomas says, “A drug addict cannot expect to give up drugs without paying the price of withdrawal. We who have been drugged by diversions cannot expect to enter the quiet without a struggle. Our souls will roar for diversion, the fix that saves us from God’s presence.”

  13. The Bible says “Jesus went out to a deserted place” (Luke 4:4). “Jesus went out to the mountain to pray & spent all night in prayer” (Luke 6:12). During the day, He (Jesus) was teaching in the temple complex, but in the evening He would go out to the Mount of Olives” (Luke 21:37).
