Sustainable Design of Kissimmee Rice Dwelling: A Two-Story, Energy-Efficient Home

The Kissimmee Rice Dwelling is a thoughtfully designed two-story residential project encompassing a total of 4,418 square feet, with each floor measuring 2,209 square feet. This eco-friendly home utilizes recyclable cinder blocks, energy-efficient appliances, and incorporates skylights for natural light and heating. The layout emphasizes personal space with two common rooms and two kitchens to accommodate gatherings. Through this project, I gained comprehensive insights into the complexities of construction, including the significant costs associated with materials and labor.

  6. Floor Plan Layout • I chose this layout because I thought that this would give each person plenty of personal space, plus two common room for gathering. And two kitchens so that everyone will have plenty of room.

  7. Timeline

  8. Conclusion • I learned that building an establishment is a lot more work than just picking one out, and saying, “I want this one!” This has taught me that there is a lot of money in build supplies and laborers; and that labor is typically a lot more expensive then anything else in the house.
