  2. Analysis • Literature Review • 5 Focus Groups: • Lower Columbia College in Longview • Seattle Central Community College • Walla Walla Community College • Spokane Community College; and • Bates Technical College in Tacoma.

  3. Students were asked about… • Current technology use in college • Technologies they wish were available • Desirable technologies available in other parts of their lives • How those might apply in college • Other technology expectations in college

  4. General Findings • Focus groups validated literature review findings • Washington-specific issues also arose • Responses were consistent across participating colleges.

  5. Students Want... • Training for faculty and students • More and consistent use of CMS • More ways to interact and collaborate with other students • More technology resources, such as wireless coverage, tech support, computer hubs, electrical outlets

  6. Students Want… • Cutting-edge technology • 24 x 7 x 365 remote access to online services • Online textbooks • More online library research databases

  7. Recommendations • Professional training and development • System-wide CMS • Social learning tools • Infrastructure and tech support • Cutting-edge technology and business partnerships
