Natalie Allen • BS in dietetics from Missouri State University (1995), Dietetic Internship Barnes-Jewish Hospital (1996), Masters in Education from University of Missouri (1998).  • Natalie has a background in clinical and community dietetics.  She started her career at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, where she grew to love the St. Louis Cardinals and Ted Drewes frozen custard!  Natalie has varied experiences in dietetics including working as a curriculum writer and educator for St. Louis schools, being a face and voice of dietetics in the media and consulting with various sports teams on nutrition.

Natalie Allen cont. • Natalie wrote “Fun”tastic Nutrition and SNEAKERS curriculum for elementary, middle and high school students.  This curriculum is published and used in schools throughout Missouri to teach nutrition education to kids.  Natalie has been a speaker at numerous national conferences; she enjoys public speaking and making nutrition information practical.  •  A native of Springfield, Natalie met her husband at Missouri State and is proud to be an alumna of the university.  She and her husband have two children, who always add spunk to her days!    She loves to attend Bears games, run 5Ks with her family, and experiment in the kitchen.

  6. National Eating Disorder Week • February 20-26 • 2 Volunteers needed to assist with preparations • Help needed for handing out fliers and ribbons at the PSU

  7. Juvenile Courthouse • February 25th, 7-745 pm • Teach a nutrition lesson plan to at-risk teens at the ERC • Lots of fun, and a certificate will be received

  8. Kids Café • Amber taking over • Monday February 28th, from 4-5 pm • Another great opportunity to help teach nutrition lesson plans

  9. Journal Club • Monday, January 28th • KaciWestrich

  10. National Nutrition Month • March • Eat with color • Raise awareness about leading a healthy life style, especially through diet

  11. El Salvador Drive • Donate goods for the people going to take along • Located in the dietetics lounge

  12. Ozark Food Harvest • March 26th • 9am-12 pm • Julie Boyer

  13. MS Walk and Relay for Life • MS Walk is April 2nd • Relay for Life is April 8/9th

  14. Need Committee heads • Head Start • Girl Scouts • Champion Athletes of the Ozarks • Independent Living • Seasons nonprofit hospice

  15. March meeting • Chipotle? Then March 23rd @ 430 at Chipotle • If not, then it will be Tuesday the 22nd @ 4pm • See you later!
