Want to make a difference in our school? Join the Student Council Association (SCA) for the 2014-2015 school year! To run, maintain a 3.0 GPA, serve as a role model, attend all dances, and participate in 75% of meetings. Positions available include President, Vice President, Secretary, and Representatives for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Campaigning begins September 29, with voting on October 2. Make your voice heard and lead by example! Ensure all campaign materials are approved and follow school policies.

STUDENT COUNCIL ASSOCIATION 2014-2015
Want to run for SCA? • Need to carry a 3.0 GPA or higher • Need to be a role model in our school and your community • Need to attend every school dance • Need to attend at least 75% of our meetings throughout the school year • Cannot have a referral throughout the ’14-‘15 school year
6th and 7th Grades • President • Vice President • Secretary
8th Grade Positions • President • Vice President • Secretary • 3 Representatives
Duties • Help set up all dances • Help organize the canned food drive • Examples of good leaders to fellow students • Organize Spirit Weeks • Participate in other school activities
Campaigning • Return Grade Sheets signed by teachers by September 26th…NO EXCEPTIONS!! • Campaigning with start on Monday, September 29th and go through to Wednesday, October 1st. • All items NEED to be REMOVED by 3:15pm on Wednesday, October 1st. Otherwise you WILL be disqualified.
Posters and Campaigning Materials • ALL posters and other materials MUST be signed off by Ms. Lazar or Mrs. Koehler BEFORE they can be displayed. • All campaigning material must be purchased by students. (Tape, Paper, Etc.) • SCA and PTMS are NOT responsible for any damaged posters.
Posters… • You are allowed FOUR posters. Two in the 8th grade wing and Two in the common areas (Gym, Mixing Bowl, Cafeteria, etc.)
CANDY • EVERYTHING you hand out to students MUST be approved by Ms. Lazar or Mrs. Koehler. • NO GUM!! • All items need to abide ALL school policies. • Materials can only be handed out during passing periods or lunch…BUT you CANNOT be late to class because of campaigning. • If we get complaints you will no longer be eligible to run for SCA. • Teacher discretion on all materials entering their classroom.
VOTING!! • Voting will take place on Thursday, October 2nd. • Winners will be announced on Friday, October, 3rd. • First Meeting Will Be on Thursday, October 9th.
