  2. What is a Homonym? • Used to describe all words that look or sound the same, but have different meanings • There are two subsets or categories of homonyms

  3. Homophones • Words that sound the same but have different spellings and meanings. • What would some examples of homophones?

  4. Homographs • Words that are spelled the same and have the same or different sound, but different meanings. • What are some examples of homographs? • Heteronyms are a type of homograph that are spelled the same, but sound different and have different meanings

  5. Assignment • Write a poem with your homophone or homograph list. Poem topics needs to be school appropriate. • Poem needs to be at least 20 lines long • Need to use 12 sets/pairs of words in your poem • You will present your poem to the class • All poems will be due June 5
