  2. Homonyms • Homonyms are words that sound the same, and are spelled the same, but have different meanings. Example: Stalk 1. The corn stalk is tall. 2. Paparazzi stalk famous people. Homo = same Nym = name

  3. Homophones • Homophones are words that sound the same, but are spelled differently and have different meanings. Example: know - no 1. I know all of my neighbors. 2. Hermits have no neighbors. Homo = same phone = sound

  4. Practice • I am scared of bats. • I hope some of what I’m saying will stick. • I love going there. • I am too cool. • The teacher is usually right.
