On November 11, students will engage with historical concepts surrounding the Enlightenment and its influences on the Declaration of Independence. Homework submissions from Chapter 6 are due, followed by collaborative note-taking and discussions on the strengths and weaknesses of the American Revolution. The class will utilize the "History Alive" book and organize notes on American and British strengths and weaknesses. Students will also reflect on unalienable rights as articulated by Thomas Jefferson and complete a graphic organizer on key Enlightenment philosophers.
