  3. 1.Plains How did it impact people? • Land is fertile for crops, • loess (soil) makes land fertile, • crops= soybeans, wheat, cotton • terraces used= platform farming • Double cropping = 2 crops grown

  4. 2. Rivers • Huang He – 1st people settled here (3000 BC) • Silt makes soil fertile • Flooding (summer rains) – destroyed crops/villages • Built Levees (kept water back)
