KFA 2 - Ensure the sustainable development and management of indigenous forests to optimise their social, economic and environmental benefits.

KFA 3 - Ensure sustainable forest management in SA by developing effective oversight of the sector and facilitating co-operative government
KFA 3 - Key Activities • Implementation and oversight of the NFA and NVFFA • Monitoring of leases and collection of rentals for communities • Develop and implement C, I & S for sustainable forest management • Development of Forest policy • Development of forest information system for the state of the forest report

KFA 4 - Promote sustainable forest management in Africa and internationally
KFA 4 - Key Activities • Co-operation with SADC countries • Participation in International Forestry forums • Participation in NEPAD • Budget - R.7 mil • Shortfall
KFA 5 - Ensure that communities and disadvantage groups are empowered to make use of tree and forest resources to support sustainable livelihoods
