New Security Features • SNMPv3 • Secure / Remote Management • SNMPv3 Security uses shared secrets and includes: • message authentication • privacy • authorization and access control • ESMTP • Used by most ISPs to confirm senders access rights and prevents SPAM • Mobile users who switch hosts can use same mail server • Example: laptop + wireless hotspot -> mail servers would reject messages • User Access Control includes authentication methods: • Login / Plain / CRAM-MD5 / MD5
