  5. Failure to heal (non union) can result in loss of blood supply which in turn results in avascular necrosis Risks

  6. Near the thumb-heal over time and needs a cast to aid in healing • Near forearm-cast will include the thumb • Surgical-screws and wires are used to keep the bone in place Treatment
