  3. Yangtze River Travel Tips 1.Prices are in US dollars per person, based on twin occupancy, and including all the meals and shore excursions. Double bed rooms are on request, but with few accommodations and the possibility may vary among different cruises. Besides, it is at a greater cost. One bed (0.5 twin room) occupancy reserve is also available, but you must share the room with other passengers of the same gender.Extra beds are available for children aged 2-11 for 75% of the adult cruise fare, depending on the cruise line. 100% cruise fare is to be paid by all children above 12 years old or adults. (Please ask your travel consultant for more details.) -Infants under 2 years old are to be charged 10% of the adult cruise fare.-The single room supplement is 70-100% of the cruise fare. 2.Cruise ships are star-rated, but it might not meet the standard of the same level hotels. Bed rooms and toilets are comparatively small. The standard cabins usually are from 8 to 16 sq. meters not including bathroom. So extra beds might narrow the space.(extra beds for children is feasible) 3.Yangtze River Cruise operators reserve the right to cancel a scheduled sailing if they do not receive enough bookings for the sailing. This situation is more likely to occur in low season but can also occur in September and October. The cancellations can occur even though they have previously confirmed the reservation made by China Highlights for our customers. Cancellation of a sailing usually occurs 15-30 days before the scheduled date but sometimes might be within 2 days before the sailing. In the event that a cruise is cancelled we will do everything possible to rebook immediately on another ship, so that inconvenience is minimized. It is possible that an additional expense may be applicable if the available ship is more expensive than that of the original booking. Please be assured that these events are beyond our control but we are here to serve you and will do all in our power to make your trip as smooth as possible.4.Downstream and Upstream Downstream voyages start from Chongqing, and head to Yichang, Wuhan, or Shanghai. Upstream voyages start from Shanghai, Wuhan or Yichang, and head to Chongqing. Your travel consultant may recommend a certain city to suit flight connections or your itinerary. Usually downstream cruises will take less time than upstream ones, but they are more expensive on some ships because of higher demand from travelers. Some shore excursions may be different to those advertised, because of changes in the schedule, but will by no means be less interesting. Shore excursion itineraries are subject to change based authority notice, weather conditions and water level. 5.China Highlights Travel highly recommended that you to book airport-pier/pier-airport transfers together with the cruise. The ships do not use the same dock at pier each time so it may be difficult to find the correct point of departure.
