  1. Inspiration of the Bible: Part 1 2 Timothy 3:16-17 2 Peter 1:20-21 June 4, 2017

  2. Inspiration of the Bible Is the Bible the Word of God? If it is the Word of God, can we know for certain? Faith is based on evidence and there is a mountain of evidence to support both questions.

  3. Inspiration of the Bible The Bible Claims inspiration. Why start here? - books which do not claim such are eliminated. - this is a legal place to start. - this is a logical place to start.

  4. Inspiration of the Bible Which of the 27 books in the New Testament claim inspiration? ALL OF THEM!!! Which of the Old Testament books are authenticated by the New Testament? ALL OF THEM!!!

  5. Inspiration of the Bible Passages Which Claim Inspiration

  6. Inspiration of the Bible Creation – John 1:1-3 Marriage – Matthew 5:32; 19:1-9 Flood – Matthew 24:39 Abraham – Luke 3:24 Burning Bush – Luke 20:37 And Many Many More Passages

  7. Passages Which Claim Inspiration 1 Timothy 3:16-17 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

  8. Passages Which Claim Inspiration 2 Peter 1:20-21 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

  9. Passages Which Claim Inspiration Ephesians 3:3-5 3 how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, 4 by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), 5 which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets:

  10. Passages Which Claim Inspiration 1 Corinthians 2:10-13 10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. 13 These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

  11. Inspiration of the Bible Passages Which Claim Inspiration Impartiality of its Characters

  12. Impartiality of its Characters Great men of the Bible are shown to have sinned. Great men in other books and stories come off as perfect do they not?

  13. Impartiality of its Characters Abraham – Genesis 16:3; 22:9-12 3 Then Sarai, Abram's wife, took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan.

  14. Impartiality of its Characters David – 2 Samuel 11:3-4 3 So David sent and inquired about the woman. And someone said, "Is this not Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?" 4 Then David sent messengers, and took her; and she came to him, and he lay with her, for she was cleansed from her impurity; and she returned to her house.

  15. Impartiality of its Characters Solomon – 1 Kings 11:3-4 3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart. 4 For it was so, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned his heart after other gods; and his heart was not loyal to the LORD his God, as was the heart of his father David.

  16. Impartiality of its Characters Paul – 1 Timothy 1:15-16 15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. 16 However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.

  17. Inspiration of the Bible Passages Which Claim Inspiration Impartiality of its Characters Unity of the Bible
