  3. BABY BOOMER • Born between 1946-1964 • 29% of population • Vietnam, The pill, Martin Luther King, John F. Kennedy • The King Of Rock-n-Roll---ELVIS, Marilyn Monroe • Civil & Women’s Rights, Woodstock, Moon landing

  4. Gen. Xers • AKA. “Baby Busters” • Born 1965-1976 • 16% of population • Berlin Wall, Gulf War, VCR’s, Nintendo, MTV • Latch Key Kids • Aids, Safe Sex

  5. MILLINEUM(Generation Y) • AKA Net Generation • Born 1977-1997 • 30% population • Internet, faxing, paging • WWF • Tattoos, dark polish, piercings • Net shopping, research & chatting • Family

  6. Generation X • Members of this generation are more independent and like the idea of entrepreneurial • They like variety in work and tend to stay away from repetitive, not the same ol’ 9-5 job • Not all are after the money but look into growth and learning • Look forward to annual pay raises and negotiate assignments daily • Prefer to learn by hands on and from their mistakes

  7. Accept challenges and establishes ways of doing things • Tend to want to receive frequent feedback on job performance • Like to have a more control schedule • Clear areas of responsibility and a chance to creative freedom • Value job: it is seen negatively if sent home early and do not mind time off without pay

  8. Generation Y • Members of this generation are confident optimists • Know about low unemployment and stock market: Bull vs. Bear markets • Believe some day they can receive social security • Grew up with the internet and what it has to offer

  9. They like the MONEY!!! • Like to spend money • Use money to help others • Concerned with job security • More apt at getting along with those of different ethnic backgrounds and races • Not afraid of using a computer and figuring out how it can benefit the user • Mothers are in the workforce, many households have a pc and the media is much more violent

  10. The world of technology has been taking over each generation slowly and now that it has reached the millennium generation it is in full force. A light switch will become obsolete Presentations will no longer be done with overheads Conclusion…

  11. Traditional lectures will be conducted using the technology rather than textbooks • Students will carry lap tops rather than book bags…
