  2. Adaption Adaption is when an animal gets used to an environment. The picture on the right shows adaption because the people are getting used to the cold by wearing jackets and other winter clothing.

  3. Camouflage Camouflage is when an organism tries to blend into its environment either to elude predators or to catch prey. The picture to the right a gecko using camouflage by looking like the bark its on.

  4. Hibernation Hibernation is when organisms sleep over long periods of time (usually over winter) because of lack of resources. The picture to the right shows the chipmunk hibernating over the long winter because the plants he loves to eat have become scarce.

  5. Dormancy Dormancy is basically like hibernation but for plants. They “sleep”, as in they lose all there pedals, leaves, etc so they can conserve energy and water. The picture to the right shows the tree dormant in the winter to conserve energy and water usually given to the leaves.

  6. Courtship Courtship is when an organism goes of in search for a mate. The picture to the right shows two sans in courtship.

  7. Migration Migration is when animals travel from one place to another. The picture to the right shows thousands of Monarch Butterflies in their yearly migration to look for a mate.

  8. Regeneration Regeneration is when an organism is capable of growing back limbs. The picture to the right shows a starfish re-growing his missing limbs.

  9. Learned Learned behavior is behavior that has been taught. The picture to the right shows a puppy learning to walk.

  10. Innate Innate is any behavior that you are not taught. It is also known as instinct. The picture to the shows innate behavior because the spider is not to spin web.

  11. Territoriality Territoriality is when animal marks its territory. The picture to the right shows a bear marking his territory on the tree by putting his sent on it.
