  2. 1) A rectangular pen is to be made using one side of a barn as one side and 80 meters of fencing for the other three sides. Find the dimensions of the pen that give the greatest area. What is the area?

  3. Try this one… • A farmer wants to make a rectangular enclosure for his cattle. To maximize the area, he is going to use a stream as the north side of the pen. If he only has 200 meters of fencing, what is the largest area that can be enclosed? x x 200 – 2x X = 50 Y = 5000

  4. 2) If a ball is thrown so that its path can be modeled by the function , find each of the following: a) How long does it take to hit the ground? b) How high does the ball go?
