  2. Intro • Fuel prices have sky rocketed over the past decade • Commercial airliners are struggling with higher costs • Resulted in higher plane ticket costs, baggage fees. • As a result, 787 was built to lower fuel consumption

  3. Design • 50% carbon-based composite material • One-piece barrel construction • More efficient engines • List of Dreamliner Manufacturers

  4. Passenger Experience • LED Lighting • Smooth Ride Technology combats incoming turbulence • Gaseous Filtration System removes eye, throat irritants from the cabin • Cabin pressurized at 6,000 feet, 2,000 feet lower than other planes

  5. Environmental Benefits • Recyclable material • Less scrap metal during construction • Less sound pollution • Higher fuel efficiency equals less emissions into the air

  6. How This Affects Us • Potentially lower flight costs • More enjoyable flights • Less environmental damage • JAL to start Dreamliner service from San Diego to Tokyo
