  2. Adding Video to a PowerPoint With this presentation you will learn how to add a video clip to a PowerPoint slide. When adding video to a PowerPoint it is best to determine what kind of video you have. If you are using a PC, most presentations work best with a Windows Media Audio/Video file. The video file should have a .wmv extension behind its name. (Note: avi files can be heard but not seen. If you have this extension please convert to a .wmv file for your video to work properly.)

  3. Adding Video to a PowerPoint VERY IMPORTANT! Adding video files to a PowerPoint Presentation can be easy. Making sure it works consistently can be confusing. If you follow just one of these pre-steps explained in the next three slides, you should have a presentation that will always have your video attached and working properly.

  4. Adding Video to a PowerPoint USING YOUR HARD DRIVE? YOU MUST READ! Pre-step if you will use a hard drive Create a folder for this project on your hard drive. Save all video files you want to use to this one folder. This folder is also where you will pull your video files from as well as save your PowerPoint Presentation. When you go to burn your final PowerPoint to a CD, you must burn everything in this folder along with your final presentation to insure all video files will connect properly.

  5. Adding Video to a PowerPoint USING A USB FLASH DRIVE? YOU MUST READ! Pre-step if you will use a USB Flash Drive Create a folder for this project on your USB Flash Drive. Save all video files you want to use to this one folder. This folder is also where you will pull your video files from as well as save your PowerPoint Presentation. When you go to burn your final PowerPoint to a CD, you must burn everything in this folder along with your final presentation to insure all videos will connect properly.

  6. Adding Video to a PowerPoint USING A CD? YOU MUST READ! Pre-step if you will use a CD Save all video files you want to use to one CD-RW. This must be a CD-RW so you can continually burn to this same disk. This disk is also where you will pull your video files from as well as save your final PowerPoint Presentation so the video may connect properly.
