  2. Mobile Music EventEVENT SUMMARY Music Mobile Services Event May 19th 2005 “Supporting Independent Mobile Music”

  3. Where & When: The MuLiMob event took place on 30 November 2005 at Kettner’s Champagne Bar. Kettner’s is located in Soho - the heart of Music in London.

  4. Objective: The objective of the event was to stimulate a discussion between Independent Music Labels and the Mobile Industry in order to support the music and artists you cannot find on commercial radio stations and thereby enhancing multilingual and multicultural diversity.

  5. AIM Website – www.musicindie.org Partnership: MuLiMob partnered with the Association of Independent Music (AIM) www.musicindie.org, whose members comprise of independent artists and record labels.

  6. Proceedings: Over 150 registered to attend from both Music and Mobile Sectors. As the event commenced, there was a noticeable divide within the audience. The Mobile Sector on one side and Independent Music Industry on the other…

  7. Objective: To stimulate discussion between Independent Music Labels and the Mobile Industry in order to support the music and artists you cannot find on commercial radio stations, thereby enhancing multilingual and multicultural diversity.

  8. Proceedings: By the end of the evening a clear dialogue had commenced between the two sectors!

  11. Proceedings: MuliMob Chairperson, Hélène Abrand, welcomed all delegates and communicated the importance of multilingual and multicultural diversity in the mobile music sector.

  12. Proceedings: This was followed by a presentation by Douglas Rushkoff on the threats and opportunities of multilingualism and multiculturalism for Independent Labels in the fast progressing and ever-changing digital and mobile world.

  17. Proceedings: The event was concluded with a networking session and DJ Set performed by Artist and Panellist, Cibelle.

  18. Results: • A physical MuLiMob presence to promote awareness about multilingualism and MuLiMob guidelines. • Clear event participation was evident in both quality and quantity. There was representation from the main wireless actors and independent music industry. • A professional collaboration between MuLiMob and the Association of Independent Music. • Open, honest and constructive dialogue between all parties in the mobile music value chain. • A memorable evening.
