identify the area Use the acronym S.P.A.C.E. for the steps to organizing. Find your lucky directions at: http://www.fengshuiadvice.com/luckydirection.html
S The "S" stands for sorting That's where you start • Pull things out • Sort • Put like things with like things • Have labeled bags and boxes set up
Hint When you're sorting, don't leave the space in which you're working. Otherwise you can lapse into yo-yo organizing.
P The “P” is for purge • Things you don’t need and don’t use
A The "A" stands for assigning • Pick or make a place for your things
C The “C” is for container • picking the appropriate one
Hint You need to sort and purge and decide where you want to store the items that you're keeping before you know what kind of container you'll need. Aesthetics is another consideration.
E The last step, "E," is for equalizing or evaluating • the process of maintaining your system and adjusting it to meet your needs
