  2. What is Key Club? Key Club is an international student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership.

  3. How Key Club Works

  4. Committees • Our club has committees that each have a chair and members to assist with projects. Some of our committees include: -Service Committee (Canned Food Drive) Chair: Symone Cyrus -Children’s Harbor (local foster home) Chair: Gabriela Eyrich -Fundraising (Car Washes ) Chair: Kayla Clements -Major Emphasis (Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF) Chair: Melissa Rondon

How to become a Member Check list: • Completely filled out 2013-2014 membership application (Can be found at PPCHSKeyClub.comunder the files tab) • Attach $20 to your application (cash only!) • Complete 11 hours with our club • Submit you application and money to Mr. Lawrence's room (D215) by Monday, September 23rd

  7. How to earn those 11 hours • August DCM (Saturday August 31st)- 3 hours • Campus Clean Up! (September 3rd)- 1 hour • KCKC (September 7th)- 6 hours • Key Club bowling night (TBA)- 3 hours • Visit to Central Campus Builders club (September 18th)- 2 hours • Blood Drive (September 19th) – 2 hours • Beach Clean up (September 21st)- 4 hours • Hope Tote – 3 hours • Sell coupon book – 1 hour • Donate colored copy paper- max 2 hours

  8. August DCM (DCM: Divisional Council Meeting) 4 hours • WHEN: Saturday, August 31st, from 1:00-4:00pm • WHERE: Memorial Manor (777 South Douglas Road | Pembroke Pines, Florida 33025) • PROJECT: We will be volunteering with the elderly, playing bingo with them and providing them some good, Key Clubber company! • This event gives you 4 hours! Dress: casual • Sign up with Faith once the meeting has ended • *The green check mark in the upper left hand corner means this is worth school volunteer hours

  9. Campus Clean Up! 1 hour • WHEN: September 3rd, 2:00-3:00pm • WHAT: We will go around school and take down all the outdated flyers. • WHERE: We will meet outside Mr. Lawrence's room (D215) • This is a quick way to earn 1 hour!

  10. KCKC 6 hours! • This event will give you more than half of your 11 hours! • KCKC is when all of zone J gets together! You will learn a lot about Key Club • You must be there before 9:15am • You must be dressed business professional • What is business professional? We’ll show you! • Sign up with Gaby and Kayla! (Key Club Kickoff Conference)

  11. Key Club Bowling Night 3 hours • WHEN: TBA most likely Saturday September 14th6:00pm-8:00pm • WHERE: Pembroke Pines AMF (1940 N. University Dr. Pembroke Pines, FL) • WHAT: A time for Key Club bonding. You will also learn facts about Key Club international and our club in particular • This is also a chance to get to know your board better. • Look for updates on out Facebook page or Twitter

  12. 2 hours Visit Central Campus Builders Club • WHAT: An opportunity for Key Club and Builders club to get to know each other better. • WHEN: Wednesday September 18th 3:30-4:15pm • WHERE: Central Campus (we will meet outside and wall in together) • Transportation will not be provided!

  13. Blood Drive 2 Hours • WHEN: Thursday, September 19th • Forms will be given out at lunch • Parents can also donate for volunteer hours • Those who donate blood will be given 2 community service hours • Requirements: You must be over 16 and weigh over 110lbs

  14. 4 hours International Beach Clean Up • WHEN: Saturday, September 21st 9:00am- 11:30am • WHERE: Hollywood North Beach Park (go all the way down Sheridan until you reach the beach) • WHAT: Costal clean up to keep our oceans free of litter • Bring gloves and trash bags!

  15. Create a Hope Tote 3 hours • All hope totes will be going to the homeless! • Fill a bag with at least 4 of the following items: -Toothbrush -Toothpaste (full size) -Shampoo/Conditioner (full size) -Deodorant -Towels -Brushes/combs -Soap -Socks • Remember to put your name on the bag! Bring to Mr. Lawrence’s room (D215)

Sell a coupon book! 1 hour Coupon book sales help us with our service projects Sell one book max Worth 1 hour You MUST either sell your book and give us the money or return the book Go to Kelsey and Chinelo to check out a book BOOKS ARE SOLD FOR $10 **Money should be brought to Mr. Lawrence as soon as you sell your book** Room D215

  17. Donate Colored Copy Paper 2 hours max • Donate 1 ream of colored copy paper for 1 hour • 2 reams max • This will go toward Key Club flyers

  18. Applications, hours, and money are all due Monday, September 23rd to Mr. Lawrence’s room (D215) • ALWAYS SIGN IN AND OUT! Each event will have a sign in sheet if you don’t sign in AND out you will not get your hours for that event • If you know someone who could not make the meeting make sure to tell them this PowerPoint and applications are available on PPCHSKeyClub.com • If you have any questions you can email me at castanerk@aol.com or our secretary at ari.chang1004@gmail.com • You must either return or pay for coupon books!
