Enhancing Hoosier Income and Environmental Quality: IDEM's 2007 Goals

On July 26, 2007, the Northern Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC) unveiled the Indiana Department of Environmental Management’s (IDEM) ambitious environmental goal. The objective is to elevate the personal income of all Hoosiers from $0.88 per $1.00 of the national average to at least $1.00, all while ensuring the state's environmental quality is not only maintained but also improved. Additionally, IDEM's commitment is informed by the 2006 Environmental Performance Index from the Yale Center, emphasizing the balance between economic growth and environmental stewardship.
