  1. Penyakit Paru Obstruksi Kronis (PPOK)Faktor RisikoAsap rokok merupakan satu-satunya penyebab terpenting, jauh lebih penting daripada faktor penyebab lainnya. Termasuk diantaranya faktor-faktor risiko lain diantaranya, polusi di dalam ruangan (asap rokok, asap kompor), polusi di luar ruangan (gas buang kendaraan bermotor, debu jalanan), polusi tempat kerja (bahan kimia, zat iritan, gas beracun), infeksi saluran napas bawah berulang, defisiensi antitripsin alfa-1.Derajat berat merokok dapat dihitung dengan menggunakan Indeks Brinkman (IB), yaitu perkalian jumlah rata-rata batang rokok yang diisap sehari dikalikan lama merokok dalam tahun:a.       Ringan 0 - 200b.      Sedang 200 - 600c.       Berat > 600Semakin berat derajatnya semakin tinggi terkena penyakit ini.
