Impact • NCRR GCRC and K12 programs will be transitioned into CTSAs by 2012 • 2006 awards subsumed 16 GCRCs, 3 RM-K12,3 RM-T32s, 4 NCRR-K12, 9 K30s • Awards emphasize sharing, collaboration, adoption of best practices • Steering Committees that have already met: • Consortium (PIs) Informatics • Participant interactions Community engagement • Research education Translation • Evaluation Pediatrics • Ethics Communications

  5. CTSA Steering Committees • Embody the expertise of the Consortium • Provide a forum for dialog with the NIH • Identify needs, goals and priorities • Serve as a platform to adopt common standards • Spawn Workgroups with defined objectives and lifespans

  6. Priorities for 2006 Awardees • Deploy Web-based communications systems • www.ctsaweb.org • Build a culture based on sharing • Hold meetings for all Steering Committees • Agree on achievable short-term goals
