Paradise: The Story of the Bible • God dwelling with his people in fellowship is the whole story of the Bible • Paradise on earth was prepared (Gen. 2) and paradise in heaven will be prepared (Rev. 22) for God’s people • Paradise lost (Gen. 3) and paradise found (Rev. 22) is the whole story of the Bible

  3. Paradise: Where All Needs Are Met • Need for home and security (2:8) • Need for food and sustenance (2:9) • Need for aesthetics and beauty (2:9-14) • Need for work (2:15) • Need for restraint & self control (2:16-17) • Need for family & companionship (2:18-25)

  4. Paradise Lost • Obedience was lost (2:15-17; 3:11) • Innocence was lost (2:25; 3:7) • Unity was lost (2:24; 3:12) • Fellowship was lost (2:8; 3:8,24)

  5. Paradise: The Story of the Bible • Jesus – the seed promise (Gen. 3:15; 12:4; Acts 3:25-26; Gal. 3:16) • Jesus is coming (the OT) … Jesus is come (the NT gospels) … Jesus is coming again (Acts – Rev.) • The Devil wants you out of paradise (Gen. 3; Rev. 12)

  8. Paradise: Lost and Found • Where will you spend eternity? You have a choice: heaven or hell (21:7-8; 21:25-27; 22:14-15) • Is your name written in the Lamb’s book of life 20:15; 21:27)? • How badly do you want to find what was lost (Lk. 15:6,9,24,32)
